This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how TaskWizard Limited (“we”, “us”) uses them on task-wizard.co.uk, and the choices you have. For how we handle personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
1) What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They’re widely used to make sites work, remember preferences and improve performance. We also use similar technologies (like local storage and pixels) for related purposes.
2) How we use cookies
- Essential — required for the site to function (e.g., remembering your consent choices, basic security). These cannot be switched off.
 - Preferences — remember your settings or choices to provide a better experience.
 - Analytics — help us understand site usage in aggregate so we can improve content and performance. Set only with your consent.

Where analytics or other non-essential cookies are used, they are only set after you give consent via our cookie banner or preferences panel.
3) Your choices & how to manage cookies
- Consent banner: when you first visit, you can accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the control below.
 - Browser controls: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Doing so may affect site functionality.
 - Do Not Track: our site doesn’t currently respond to DNT signals. You can still manage cookies via the methods above.

4) Cookies we may set
The cookies below are typical for a WordPress website and common analytics tools. Your exact set may differ based on plugins and settings. Update this table to match your installation.
| Category | Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | cookie_consent / cookie_preferences | First-party | Stores your cookie choices so we remember them on future visits. | Up to 12 months | HTTP / Local storage |
| Essential | wordpress_logged_in_* / wp-settings-* | First-party (WordPress) | Used when logging into the site (admins/editors). Not set for normal visitors. | Session / up to 1 year | HTTP |
| Preferences | _wp_preference_* (example) | First-party | Remembers UI or accessibility preferences where available. | Up to 12 months | HTTP / Local storage |
| Analytics (if enabled) | _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Helps count visits and traffic sources to measure and improve performance. Data is aggregated. | Up to 24 months | HTTP |
| Embedded content (if used) | Third-party embed cookies | e.g., Calendly, Google Maps | Required for embedded schedulers/maps to function. Set by the third party when you view the embed. | Varies by provider | HTTP |
5) Third-party cookies & embedded content
Some pages may include content from third parties (for example, a scheduling widget or map). These providers may set their own cookies. We don’t control those technologies. Please review their privacy/cookie notices for details.
6) Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to cookies used or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date will change, and significant changes will be highlighted where appropriate. The current version is available at /cookie-policy/.
